Shopping trips in math are fun. Especially when they are imaginary and don't require actually leaving the classroom. For this project we used an idea from Teachers Pay Teachers (Teaching in Room 6) to help enhance our learning outcome of adding money. We found and cut out six books, then found their prices in retail compared to the scholastic price. Then they subtracted to find how much we had saved. In the end they added their total cost and total savings to complete the project. The cutting and pasting is always good practice, too. I'd call that a fun Friday for sure!
